DESPATCH
We are only able to lift the plants when they are ready and these times can vary from year to year, so dates are given only as a guide.
PLEASE NOTE FOR AUTUMN DELIVERIES (ordered July onwards): We start to lift and send strawberry plants in mid - late October and then begin lifting canes and bushes after a hard frost, usually mid November. Strawberry plant only orders will be despatched first in mid - late October. Combined orders of strawberry plants and canes/bushes will be sent out in early - mid November (but late November if Autumn Bliss is included - they need to finish fruiting first). Bushes and canes will be sent out November until mid December.
We try to miss the Christmas post unless you have special requests.
PLEASE NOTE FOR SPRING DELIVERIES (ordered mid December onwards): We can despatch bushes and canes up until late March (depending on the season). Fresh-dug strawberry plants will be available February until early May or as cold-stored plants until late June (dependent on stock availability).
By ordering earlier than this you will be accepting these delivery dates.
We are of course dependent on good weather conditions for all our lifting and every effort will be made to supply plants when you require them. However, please bear with us if conditions are severe.

DELIVERY CHARGES
No extra charge is made for carefully packing the plants ready for despatch.
We can deliver to certain plants to Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland but please contact us directly to discuss delivery options and charges. Please do not make these orders on our website.
For UK deliveries, we send smaller items by First Class Post and use a guaranteed 24 - 48 hour delivery service for heavier items. Other services can be arranged if required, at cost.

DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE GIVE US YOUR POST CODE, parcels cannot be despatched without it. If you are not at home during the day, please give us an address where the plants can be left and a signature obtained or where a parcel can be safely left (at your own risk). Also please leave us your day-time telephone number. We will pass this information only to the carriers.
We send all the plants in one parcel unless you request otherwise, in which case an additional delivery charge should be included.
Please inform us of any special requests for delivery dates, and we will try our upmost to oblige.
We cannot accept responsibility for plants delivered to the delivery address provided, if you are away from home e.g. on holiday etc, unless we have been previously notified of any dates when you will be away from home. We are charged a daily redelivery fee which we reserve the right to pass on to our customers if the parcel can not be accepted within 2 days.
Any order may be collected directly from our site, but only by prior arrangement please. Due to the isolated nature of the propagation beds and the potential plant health risks involved, we are not able to encourage visitors except for the pre-arranged collection of plants. |
